Competitions Feature Midwest’s Top Show Jumping Prizes, Free Education Area and Revamped Shopping Expo
The Omaha Equestrian Foundation (OEF) has announced that the eighth annual Burlington Capital International Omaha, the “Midwest’s Biggest Horse Event,” will return April 9-12, 2020, to the CHI Health Center Omaha, site of the highly-acclaimed 2017 FEI World Cup™ Finals. The event will feature four days of elite show jumping and dressage competition, unique educational opportunities and a revamped shopping expo.
Burlington Capital International Omaha
The Burlington Capital International Omaha is not your ordinary horse show. Many of the best horses and riders in the Midwest compete for top prizes. Because of its unique venue, everything is under one roof – stabling, warm-up, competition arena, educational and exhibit area, demonstrations, dining venues and shopping. It’s where the American tailgate experience meets European sophistication, and spectators have a chance to be up close and personal with some of the finest equestrians and horses in the world.
The 2020 Burlington Capital International Omaha features a free education area, including a family-friendly Horse Discovery Zone. Last year, 4,500 school children participated in free field trips, learning about animals, STEM and careers in animal health. Other attractions include a revamped Shopping Expo and a Tailgate Lounge adjoining the warm-up arena. Competition highlights include the $100,000 International Omaha Grand Prix and the $100,000 Init2Winit Speed Jumping Series Final, in addition to dressage and other jumping classes.
“We are thrilled to be hosting the eighth annual Burlington Capital International Omaha,” said Lisa Roskens, OEF founder and chair. “Thanks to the support of the local Omaha community and the regional and national equestrian communities, the event gets better each year. Our InIt2WinIt Speed Jumping Series continues to gain in popularity among elite athletes, and the Final has earned the reputation among fans as one of the most exciting attractions at International Omaha.”
